Strategic logic

The gender pay gap isn’t ignored because people don’t care. It's ignored because the data feels too complex, too abstract and too politicised to engage with. WGEA needed more than a campaign – they needed a way in. A retro, pixel-game quiz did what no government fact sheet could: it made people curious, then competitive, then informed. The statistics didn’t change. But for the first time, people stopped scrolling and started understanding.

The work
A yellow quiz screen with bold black headline “How much do you know about the gender pay gap? Test your knowledge and find out!” and a “Start now” button. A small pixel-art character stands on a retro game-style ground line below.Three mobile quiz screens: the start screen, a question asking what percentage of employers consulted employees on gender equality with three answer options, and a results screen reading “You scored 7/8.” Each shows the pixel-art character on platform blocks.Five pixel-art versions of the quiz character showing different reactions, including happy, sad with a broken heart and running.
